Why Monotube front dampers?
This gas-charged monotube coil over kit is far lighter than other types of coil over damper making use of lightweight billet aluminium parts. Therefore unsprung weight is reduced, making it ideal for serious track day or competition use. The dampers also react quicker (fast flow damping and an internal floating piston) and can be used in an inverted position moving the gas and oil away from heat sources (brakes) for more consistent damping.
This GAZ monotube coil over kit comes with silicone chrome springs and the required mounting hard wear. The spring platforms are adjustable to allow the ride height to be altered as required and the bump and rebound settings can be adjusted by means of a knurled collar at the top (or bottom if used inverted).
Monotube is 40mm inverted monotube front strut & a twin tube rear, the kit will be a coil over all round & include the adjustable front top mounts. All of the dampers will be single adjustable & the bump & rebound damping will be adjusted at the same time on a fixed ratio from a single control. It also includes springs.

Large Diameter Bodies
The Gaz Gold coil over kits use a 62mm diameter damper body for extra oil capacity over lesser brands, The extra damping oil maintains its temperature under motor racing conditions. Keeping the oil cool prevents oil cavitation and frothing to maintain consistent damping over the course of a race or track day.
Race Coil Springs
2.5 Inch diameter race coil springs are used which can be supplied in various lengths and spring rates as described in the custom set up on section in the product listings.
Bolts to Original Suspension Mounts
Unless otherwise stated in specific product listings, the Gaz Gold Coil over kit will bolt up to your existing suspension mounting points. This is important for many race formula where the regulations do not permit chassis modifications to accommodate non original types of suspension. It also means that fitting the kit is simplicity itself!
On Car Ride Height and Damping Adjustable
There is no need to remove the units from the car to adjust ride height or damping so you can quickly alter the settings to dial the car into any given track, weather conditions or driving style. The ride height adjustments system uses a course acme thread for ease of adjustment and the damper adjuster knob is on the side of the unit.
Simultaneous Rebound and Compression Adjustment
On Gaz Gold coil over kit a single control knob on the side of each damper adjusts rebound and compression damping simultaneously. This simple adjustment method allows you again to quickly alter the settings to dial the car into any given track, weather conditions or driving style. The idea here is that you will be driving the car more than playing with the settings! That said, for those drivers needing more adjustment, we can supply Gaz Gold coil over kits with separate rebound and compression damping (external reservoir).
Lightweight Components to Reduce Weight
In the design and construction of Gaz Gold Coil over kits lightweight billet alloy components are used where possible. The bases, end fittings, seats, lockrings, rod guides and gland nuts are all alloy. This has the benefit of being light in weight whilst retaining a huge strength to accommodate the bumpiest of tracks and harsh motorsport use.
Hardened Piston Rods
Gaz Gold dampers use a 22mm diameter induction hardened piston rod that is hard chrome plated for the additional strength and durability required in motorsport conditions.
Multi Lip Sealing
The Gaz Gold dampers units are fitted with multi lip seals for extra reliability and leak resistance. The outer seal is also a metal encased wiper to clean the piston rod. This in turn extends main seal performance and oil retention under extreme conditions.
Gas Charged Dampers
The damper units in the Gold range are fitted with a gas cell in the outer reservoir and filled with a high viscosity index multi grade oil. By pressurizing the oil with the gas cavitation and oil frothing is prevented which reduces damper fade for a more consistent damper in motor racing conditions.
Anti Corrosion Finish
The outer tube is steel with a black zinc coating and all outer alloy components are black anodised to provide the best anti corrosive finish possible.
These will be made to order and should take around 4 weeks to manufacturer.
