Meet Paul Luti, we have known Paul for many years now, firstly  through Chris and him competing together in the MG Trophy Championship, now he drives for us in the Global Touring Car Championship out in South Africa.

Now, we post a lot about the racing and the cars but we haven’t ever properly introduced you to Paul, so we thought we would interview him!

Over to you Paul,

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I live in a small town in Central Scotland surrounded by hills which is fantastic because I love tackling them on the mountain bike, I’m a big fan of cycling. Married to my amazing wife Lucia and have an incredible daughter called Mila. I work in the family business repairing cars which is partly how I’m able to be involved with motorsport and I am very fortunate to have support from friends and family to continue in the sport that I love.

Tell us a crazy fact about you?

A crazy fact about me is I tick like I swallowed a watch as I have an artificial heart valve.

When did you start your racing career?

Technically I started at 7 years old but only for a year due to jumping to trials bikes. I then restarted at 19 years old.

Where did your love for cars come from?

My love for cars is from my father, he was always been involved in running race cars from when I was born.

What is your favourite car you have driven?

Favourite car was an MOT failure Rover Metro that I was given to repair. I had so much fun in that thing and learned a lot about being smooth, not to scrub off speed.

What is your dream car?

Dream car is a difficult one, I change my mind every day, Perhaps it might just be the most expensive one so I can sell it and use the money for more racing 😊!

Which UK track is your favourite?

I’ve always been a fan of Donnington Park but in all honesty I love them all. I can definitely say that I’m not a fan of Cadwell Park, it’s too narrow for car racing

And your favourite all time track?

I would probably say Silverstone GP circuit, makes for great overtaking and is very fast.

What do you do to mentally prepare for a race?

I like to make sure everything is done and ready ASAP before a race. If not, my mind goes into panic mode,  I also like to clean the car, it helps me relax.

What are your future ambitions with your racing career?

I hope to continue racing for the foreseeable future and would love to do TCR UK.

A final note from Paul

I must say a special thank you to Amy, Chris, Nikky and the team at Finishline UK LTD for your very valued support.
